3D TELEVISION IN INDIA CRICKET

New Delhi: If you are a die-hard cricket fan and want to experience the action lifesize, either buy the advanced 3D TV or make sure a friend of a relative of a friend is somehow a corporate honcho, because that is how difficult the stadium experience has been.

With the cricketing extravaganza in the sub-continent this time and Team India pinned as genuine contenders to lift the crown, every Indian supporter wants to catch hold of even a single ticket which gives them access to the grounds. But after the lathicharge outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Thursday, it is obvious, the stadiums are not for you.
Every match that will be played during this six-week period will see packed houses, but packed with state board members, the corporate who's who and BCCI and ICC associates.

For a country where the gentlemans's game is a religion and the Indian players demi-gods, it is saddening to see that the experience of watching the land's favourite sons is only limited.

The final of the World Cup 2011 is to be played at Wankhede and ignoring the magnitude of the event and the fervour of the people to experience this once-in-a-lifetime sight, there were only 4000 tickets for the commoners to get their hands on! And since non-board members and political and business bigwigs were the only audience, the common man got another slap on his face as the stadium capacities were greatly reduced to accomodate plush seats, Grade A facilities and a whole viewing experience.

What a time to be a member of a cricket board!

Our country takes pride in our support for the cricket team. How we wear our heart on our sleeves is what drives our players to do even better and take it to the next level. But if a boundary is struck or a screamer of a catch is taken, how much noise can 4000 people make?

Eden Gardens is known as the Home of Indian Cricket, of crazy fanaticism for the game, for a mercurial attitude which can make them burn a player's effigy down, at the same time organise mass prayers for their well-being, but where will their enthusiasm be heard? Not in the stands, not in the aisles, but miles away from the stadia in their living rooms.

Why you ask? Because a stadium in which a lac of people could squeeze in, now can hold 67,000 to the rafters. Why you ask? To incorporate the comfort of the powerful and the linked!

From gully cricket to intenational cricket, it is the viewer who brings out the best in the player. So is it too much to ask that the viewer get the best view.
